Over the past few years we have shown a range of boats to show the variation in styles we can produce as bespoke boat fitters. From the impressive Lady Teal - the 13' x 60' hotel boat we had on display in 2010, which caused quite a stir with its unique look! There were long queues all three days with people wanting to look inside. Those who did manage to view the inside were amazed at the fit-out - 4 x en-suite Bedrooms, fully equipped Galley & opulant Saloon. Lady Teal is now in operation on the Leeds and Liverpool canal, trading succesfully having been awarded a 5-star status as a hotel boat.
Last year (2011) saw the truly luxurious narrowboat MILBURN One Hundred exhibited. Aptly named as we reached the 100th boat built by Milburn Boats Ltd. The boat was subsequently reviewed by Waterways World magazine.
Previous boats exhibited have been along the lines of more traditional narrowboats. Betty D was exhibited in 2009, and was based on a hull from Lambon Hulls. The previous year (2008) saw Best of British on display, based on a hull from Norton Canes Boatbuilders. Both boats were again featured in magazine reviews later in those years. Copies of these articles can be seen in our REVIEWS page.
This year we will again be operating our 'open boat' policy to allow as many as possible to view our work. Due to insurance requirements, we will have to limit the number on board at any one time, so will operate a guided tour through the boat for each party. In order to avoid waiting, you can pre-book an appointment to come and see us. Do not miss this oportunity to see this example of our workmanship firsthand.
